WHY MEXICO, WHY PSILOCYBIN MUSHROOMS?
Long before neuroscientists and Silicon Valley praised the efficacy of psilocybin mushrooms for treating depression and increasing creativity, this powerful medicine was considered sacred by the Mesoamerican peoples of Mexico. In the Nahuatl language, this sacred medicine is called “teonanacatl” - translated as the “Flesh of God”.
Today, in a few small villages of the Central Highlands of Mexico, the ceremonial consumption of psilocybin mushrooms endures. The Mazatec medicine people have kept the old ways alive. European colonialism considered these indigenous traditions to be "of the devil." This way of thinking, however, did not prevent the healing power of psilocybin from spreading and continuing to heal the world. In spite of indigenous persecution and genocide, the resilience of the Mazatec and other indigenous peoples has preserved the knowledge and healing uses of this medicine for body, heart, and emotional wellness.

I am an Afro-Indigenous, fifth-generation Medicine Woman. I am originally from Peru and I spent much of my young life in Mexico. I am fortunate that my family comes from a community of medicine people and has maintained many close friendships with medicine people from around the world. When I was 19, my father found himself seeking assistance in treating my grandfather's failing health. My father called upon my godfather - a Mazatec Medicine Man, trained in the ancient tradition of mushroom medicine. My whole family gathered together and we held ceremony. My grandparents, father, aunt, and I were guided by my Godfather, Matzayani, through the very same journey you will be participating in.
It was one of the most beautiful, healing, and life-affirming experiences of my life and I am so excited to share it with you.
These days, I am based in Oakland, CA and have been witness to the explosion of psychedelic and plant medicines in mainstream culture. It makes my heart happy that we are legalizing the use of psilocybin and other plant medicines in places like Oakland, CA, Denver, CO, and Chicago, IL. I have also been disappointed, however, by how many people with no roots in the ancient traditions and who call themselves "shamans" are administering these sacred plants with very little training or knowledge.
My response to this situation is to offer people a different way to experience psilocybin - a way that is rooted in the wisdom of ancestral healing, magic, and cultural integrity. You now have the opportunity to travel to Mexico and to work with traditional indigenous medicine people. These are the people who have for generations built a solid relationship of honoring and deep respect with these medicines and their power. This journey is an opportunity to work with my family, who are multi-generational medicine people and are rooted in the ancient ways. My family has spent thousands of hours supporting people on their life journeys through medicine work and have done the work of connecting and building sacred relationship with the spirit world.
I have created The Magical Medicine Journey to welcome you into my family and community of medicine people. I want to welcome you to the beauty and magic of Mexico and to introduce you to the ancient ways of working with this sacred medicine. To experience a traditional Mazatec ceremony with psilocybin is a very special opportunity and one that is, quite honestly, rare in our time.
We have decided that our group will be small and intimate because the power of a journey like this requires a tight and safe container. To support our journey, we have four indigenous medicine people, all with well-rounded skills in other areas. My father is a therapist, my godfather is a medical nurse, my aunt is a “seer”, and I am a trauma-informed, emotional wellness mentor to leaders and entrepreneurs.
I am so glad you have heard the call and want to join us.
This will be the journey of a lifetime.
I know we will do deep work and also share in deep belly laughs.
I know the medicine gives you exactly what you need and will meet you exactly where you are at in life.
Join us.

LEGALITY
As of April, 2006 all street drugs are legal to be carried in small quantities by individuals in Mexico. Specifically, sacramental or traditional use and cultivation of fresh mushrooms is legal. This is in line with the interpretation of the UNODC Bulletin allowing the sacramental use of psychotropic preparations. We work with a local, indigenous shaman who is familiar with the local laws, law enforcement and medicine community ensuring that we are always acting in accordance with the highest standard of the law.
Your payment for MMM Journey via PayPal, Venmo or CC includes: accommodations, fees at pyramids, hots springs, meals, transportation, integration & facilitation. These prices DO NOT include the cost of mushroom medicine for your retreat. Psilocybin is legal in Mexico when done in a ceremonial and sacramental context. Due to current regulations outside of Mexico, MMM Journey does not include the cost of the mushrooms in the retreat package price. Guests will be served medicine at the discretion of the medicine man/woman at the retreat under their guidance. The indigenous shaman will always give medicine for free and you are welcome to give a donation. In this challenging landscape we are committed to providing our guests with the safest, most legal option in psilocybin-assisted retreats.

Day 2-
We will begin our Mexican grand adventure by taking an all day trip to the organic regenerative farm “Via Organica” in the countryside of San Miguel de Allende. At the farm we will be making offerings so that our journey can be blessed by this sacred land. We will do a ritual to the corn goddess, Chicomecoatl, as she is the deity that has been worshiped in this area of Mexico for thousands of years. Chicomecoatl provides nourishment, sustenance, abundance and good fortune. As part of this practice and to bond with Chicomecoatl, we will hand make tamales with masa and ingredients grown on Via Organica. We will enjoy our delicious tamales with a view of the surrounding mountains. This ceremony will set the foundation for our transformation together as we embark on this Magical Medicine Journey.
On this day we will also work with the spirit of the mushroom by microdosing and having a gentle introduction to this medicine in our system. There will be a space to meditate and set powerful intentions for your journey. During this time, you will also learn how to make a plant offering where you will infuse your prayers and creative energy into beautiful creations as a gift for Chicomecoatl. This will be a profound experience that has the power to connect you to your new guardian spirit in a very unique way.
While on the farm, we will take a walk to see where all our organic food will be coming from that will be prepared for us at the hotel. The meals for this day will include a traditional rancho style lunch and an organic farm to table dinner that will be served back at our hotel.

In the afternoon, we will return to our hotel to prepare for the deep dive we will take in our sacred Medicine Ceremony.
This is a once in a lifetime experience that has the power to shift you in such a profound and positive way that it will give you exactly what you need. This all-night ceremony will be facilitated by a Matzayani Mazatec Medicine Man, guardian of the ancient indigenous traditions, and Xochitl Ashe will be assisting and translating. In order to create a tight container and safe space, we will welcome two additional medicine people for support: Inti (Xochitl’s father) and Marilu (Xochitl’s aunt).

Day 5-
We will venture to the ancient Otomi Pyramids and have a ceremony in honor of the indigenous ancestors and keepers of the land on which we are holding our journey. We will call upon the ancient medicine of this land and the people of the stars whose pyramids demonstrate their intimate knowledge of cosmic alignment. We will also have an Intention Setting Circle as we prepare for our second Medicine Ceremony.
After some rest & relaxation, we will have our second all-night Medicine Ceremony to expand our hearts and minds as only this sacred medicine can. We will honor the Full Moon - for many ancient cultures, the full moon signified calling in the energy of completion - a release by celebration of all that was and at the same time welcoming in an era of renewal in our lives.

As we say our farewells, we admire the new beings we have become and courageously embody the power of our true selves, taking into our hearts the Magic of our Mexican Medicine Journey.
